Weekly Photo Challenge: Rule Of Thirds

For my blog I store my photographs on Flickr and then link them into my posts using the excellent plugin for Windows Live Writer called Flickr4Writer. In all the years I have been using it Flickr4Writer has never let me down, apart from once when Flickr changed their API rules. Give him his due, when I notified Tim Heuer, the developer of Flickr4Writer, about the problem he quickly issued a new version of the plugin compatible with Flickr.

This morning uploaded some photographs to Flickr for this post but when I went to insert them into Windows Live Writer they just weren’t showing in the catalogue. To cut a long story short after a lot of time trying to resolve the problem myself I’ve had to contact Tim again to see if he can help. It could be Flickr have changed something again, they often do without telling anyone.

In the meantime, having wasted a lot of time today trying to sort the problem I’m extremely late in posting this challenge entry. Unfortunately I will have to use the limited space that WordPress provide for storing photographs

Rule of Thirds

I hate using the WordPress provided storage. But at the moment I have to use it.

The biggest problem I have Mike with your blog is the way that every e-mail notification is forced to open in a program called i.zamenta.com, which I never know whether to trust it or not. This current post has a real problem in that the reproduction of the image is totally flat with virtually no contrast whatsoever. It looks like it’s not been rendered by the upload software. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Richard

The Zemanta problem is strange, Richard. I use zemanta to give me links and related articles but it shouldn’t be forcing you to open the emails through zemanta. I agree that photograph is totally flat. That’s not how I uploaded it to WordPress.

Bummer about the issues Mike – but the shot is lovely, even if a bit more flat than your usual.

I’ve decided to stop using Zemanta Tina. Much as i like it in recent months the number of WordPress related articles has died off dramatically and I keep getting them from the same few blogs. Shame really because when they were part of WordPress I’d regularly see 30 to 40 related links. I could pick different ones each week, spreading the links around. As to the photograph, I’m not sure why it’s so flat. Instead of adding it to Flickr, like I usually do, I used the free space space that WordPress gives instead. Fortunately the Flickr problem has been resolved so normal service will resume this week
